Beholder Blank DIY Kit

from $85.00

Oh, my god, no. Please! What is that? Don’t tell me!”

-Jack Burton

Do you need a creature around to report back to you about the goings-on?

This is a DIY resin kit to make your own Beholder/Guardian.

The Full kit includes the Beholder, the base, and an acrylic rod. You can also purchase the Beholder by itself.

This kit requires sanding, painting, drilling, and general DIY skills in order to finish. While I try to answer any questions that come my way, I won’t be able to give step-by-step instructions on how to complete this kit.

The Beholder:

  • Cast in solid resin, in a translucent creamy/peach color (color may vary slightly from image.)

  • Measures approximately 5”x4”x3.5” (length, width, depth)

  • Weighs approximately 15 ounces

  • No holes drilled

  • There is flashing around the piece and remnants of the pour spout and sprues on the bottom of the cast that will need to be removed/sanded. There may be visible bubbles on the bottom of the piece (Picture 15), but they will not affect the surface quality, and can be painted over. All effort has been made to minimize clean-up. Expect a casting similar in quality to the one pictured.

The Base:

  • Cast in Solid Resin, in a soft grey color (Color may vary slightly from image.)

  • Measures approximately 6.5”x6.5”x1” (length, width, height)

  • Weighs approximately 21 ounces

  • There may be flashing around the edge. Minimal sanding may be necessary

  • No holes drilled

The support rod:

  • Can be used to make it appear as though the beholder is hovering above the base.

  • 1/4” in circumference, approximately 6” long

  • Made of clear acrylic

This piece can be painted with acrylics or stained. I recommend throughly cleaning the piece before painting to remove any traces of release from the casting process. The final picture is of the completed original sculpture and is an example of how it can look when painted.

Please use care when handling these pieces. Some parts of this sculpture are made of thinner pieces of resin, and may break if the sculpture is dropped or roughly handled.
