One of the weirdest, as well as the most melancholy stories of human deformity, is that of Edward Mordake […] upon the back of his head was another face, that of a beautiful girl, "lovely as a dream, hideous as a devil." The female face was a mere mask, "occupying only a small portion of the posterior part of the skull, yet exhibiting every sign of intelligence, of a malignant sort, however."

Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine (1896)

With this mask, inspired by Edward Mordake, it is possible to wear either face forward, to reflect how you are really feeling!

This mask will comfortably fit heads up to 22-23" in circumference. Please note that everyone’s face is unique, and this mask may not fit your particular face. Due to the nature of this piece, this mask does not have a slit cut up the back. Personally I am able to put on the mask without the cut, but I’m happy to trim away extra if you would like.

Want a different color or paint job? Or something altogether custom? Please contact me! I’m usually available for custom orders or commissions.

Vision is through the pupils of BOTH characters. Be aware that vision is very limited. DO NOT DO ANYTHING UNSAFE IN THIS MASK (like driving!) Mask will be shipped with packing material stuffed inside, but may arrive slightly distorted. If needed Mask can be gently heated with a hairdryer from the inside in order to snap it back to its original shape.

While these masks are somewhat durable, they are still an art piece. The paint can be scratched and it may tear if handled carelessly. Please handle with care. Clean with an airduster, or a lightly damp towel. Do not scrub. Store on a mannequin or with padding underneath to prevent distortion.

Latex is a natural rubber, which means that it will degrade over time. Storing the piece in a temperature controlled environment, away from sunlight or UV light will help prolong its longevity.

Do not purchase or handle if you have a latex allergy

In stock orders ship within a few days with insurance. Any additional fees (Customs etc) are the responsibility of the client as I cannot predict these charges.
